Winchester is, architecturally, one of the finest cities in England.
There is much to delight the vistor, including the beautiful Cathedral, the Great Hall of the Castle, Wolvesy Palace, the Hospital at St. Cross, and of course the famous College and much more.
Winchester is not a large city and can be easily explored on foot. It is rich historically, being once the capital of England.
Guide books of Winchester itself, and also some of the historic buildings, are available at the Tourist Information Centre which is located in the Guildhall, just a short distance from The Welcome Gospel Hall.
The Tourist Information Centre provides maps and details of guided walks usually available during the summer months.
